EZ Rider V2.2.0 is here - and it's ready to Mambo!!

Welcome to EZ Rider - a simple motorcycle listing component for Joomla! content management systems.  Just because it's simple doesn't mean it lacks features either - EZ Rider comes with a huge list of features to make your listings look great - and it's all very configurable via the admin backend.

EZ Rider has been developed in consultation with Bart Verhoeven from FastBike Magazine, and as a result - it's a comprehensive, yet flexible component that will meet the needs of sales sites and club sites.  In fact - Bart has also designed the EZ Rider logo for me, and it's awesome!

Club sites wanting a way to allow members to show off their machines have typically had to make do with modifications to other components not specifically designed for the task - but EZ Rider changes all of that.  Members can now show off their bikes easily - there's room for 12 images, the full spectrum of technical specifications and the full details area where they can write about its performance, restoration project - whatever.

As an ecommerce-related component - EZ Rider does double-duty again.  It can be a personal/business sales site, or it can be a community sales portal offering both free and paid listings - and it's PayPal IPN enabled.

Version 1.1.0 continued this great start, and introduced Community Builder integration - so you can make use of Community Builder's excellent profiling system - and use the new EZ Rider plugin to list all of a member's motorcycle listings in their profile.  Version 2.1.0 beta has continued to build on these great features, and introduces SMS text messaging using the Clickatell Gateway.

EZ Rider.org is both my demonstration site and live test site - so please don't panic if you experience the occasional transitory problem - this will just be me testing out new code on a live system ;-)

System Requirements:-

EZ Rider is not a "stand-alone" script - it's a component developed for use with the Mambo/Joomla! content management systems.  As a "database-driven" PHP script, EZ Rider requires:-

• Either the Mambo or Joomla! content management system - tested on Mambo 4.6.2 and up to Joomla 1.0.12
• PayPal account if wanting to offer paid member's listings
• MySQL database - tested on servers running versions 3.23.54  - 5.0.27-standard.
  
• PHP scripting support - tested on servers running versions 4.2.2 - 5.2.0
• The ability to send email using the built-in mosMail() function.  This should make EZ Rider suitable for both Windows  and *nix-type operating systems.
• IonCube or Zend encryption support.  Most servers support one of these, and you can download the free IonCube loaders from IonCube, or visit the Zend site for more information on Zend encryption support.
• Your server settings must also allow communication by EZ Rider with the Raptor Services licensing server.

While EZ Rider currently operates on both Mambo 4.6.2 and Joomla 1.0x, we will not be upgrading EZ Rider for use on Joomla 1.5 due to licensing issues.  In order to have long-term upgrade options with EZ Rider, we recommend use of the Mambo CMS.
